Identity security for human and non-human identities is a hot topic right now. Traditional approaches were built to secure humans logging into apps, but non-human identities (NHIs) especially Agentic AI now vastly outnumber human accounts in modern environments, and they're often over-privileged, poorly governed, and invisible to the controls organisations rely on. The real risk isn't identity itself, it's the privilege attached to it. Marc Maiffret will unpack where identity risk is concentrated today, how identity sprawl can blind you to risks and the privilege centric approaches that can actually reduce it.
Founding his first company at the age of 17, shortly after being raided by the FBI for his early security research. He became an early pioneer in Microsoft vulnerability research, including co-discovering and naming Code Red, the first Microsoft computer worm. As someone who helped establish the market for Vulnerability Management products Marc has strong opinions on how AI capabilities like Mythos are changing the way we think about security and how that intersects with the identity attack surface.
With over 25 years of experience in security research and leadership Marc Maiffret serves as Chief Technology Officer at BeyondTrust. Leading product strategy, research and the global engineering organization to innovate and address market needs in identity and access security. Marc is a well-known entrepreneur and has held technical leadership roles at organizations such as eEye Digital Security, FireEye, SpaceX, and BeyondTrust. Having presented at global security conferences and testified before Congress on matters of national security he is regularly sought out by organizations and media to break down complex security topics.
