What does the annual fee cover?
AITEC is a limited liability company and fees cover operational costs such as insurance, website administration, professional fees, employees, and other administrative costs.
Does the annual fee cover the cost to attend dinners and events?
No. The cost to attend a dinner or event is per-event and typically ranges between $150-$300 per person. Event fees help cover the cost of the venue, meals, equipment rentals, and guest speakers, as required.
Can a vendor be an AITEC member?
Today, AITEC is an exclusive community of peers in the investment industry sharing knowledge in solutions and best practices. In the future, AITEC may create a separate membership package exclusive to vendors to exchange information amongst their respective peers. We do, however, offer a number of opportunities for vendors to get involved in AITEC.
Is my membership terminated if I leave my company?
If you are hired by another financial firm or are actively searching for a job in the investment industry, your membership will continue to be active. If you move to another industry or are hired by a vendor, your membership will be terminated immediately.
What is the AITEC-AIMA Due Diligence Questionnaire?
AITEC partnered with the Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA) in 2016 to rebrand the AITEC-AIMA DDQ and to promote awareness and adoption of the service. Today, over 150 global vendors offer the DDQ to AITEC and AIMA members. Many vendors opt to complete the AITEC-AIMA DDQ for consideration by our members—either offline or via software such as Markit KY3P and Prevalent platforms.
Does AITEC host vendor proprietary data?
No, AITEC does not host vendor proprietary data, though AITEC may license the Due Diligence Questionnaire (DDQ) template itself to a third party host.
Do vendors have access to member lists?
No, AITEC does not disclose member-specific information externally.
Does AITEC endorse solutions, vendors, or market practices in general?
No, AITEC does not endorse solutions, vendors, or market practices. AITEC does not score, rate, pass, or recommend any specific solution or vendor.
AITEC has a vendor discount program whereby vendors are discounting fees to AITEC members. This is available to all market vendors and is in no way reflective of AITEC’s endorsement. All offers do require approval by the Board. Qualitative due diligence on a vendor is the exclusive responsibility of the member.
